Our Family

Welcome to Our Appalachia Homeschool!

Allow me to introduce my family! There is my husband (Shannon), myself (Amy) and our two sons, Aidan and Noah! We started Homeschooling our boys in 2011. It has been an amazing adventure and we enjoy every step of it.

Homeschooling was a choice that we did not make lightly. I actually remember thinking to myself: How on earth will I get these boys to sit still... How will I teach them... Is this really what God wants for our family...  But I have learned through this journey that when the Lord calls us, we are obedient in His calling! I give Him all the Praise and Glory! We could never homeschool without God's blessings and guidance. I can honestly say that I love being a homeschool Mom. I love watching my children learn, being around them all day, teaching them about the Lord and I love that my husband and I can be the primary influences in their lives.

Our Boys:

This is Aidan Michael. He is 12 years old and in 8th grade this year. He is a helper, hard worker and a charmer. He is full of sweet compliments and will go out of his way to help those around him. He loves to fish, deer hunt, play games, old cars, science, history and getting as muddy and dirty as he can! He loves to make and create his own projects, and he is good at just about everything he tries. He is a good leader and we love him dearly.

Then we have our youngest son, Noah Matthew. He is 11 years old and in 6th grade. Noah is a joker... always trying to make everyone laugh. His smile is contagious and he has such a big heart. He loves all types of animals, reading, creating new and unique things, playing games and taking apart any thing I will let him. He is our baby boy and we love him dearly.

I hope you like reading my blog. I love sharing our daily adventures, homeschool inspirations and resources.. and I hope you will enjoy them as well. Thanks for reading and if you have any questions feel free to contact me.
