Myrtle Beach Vacation

Last week was our first big vacation since finishing school! We traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a few days of beach fun. On our way to Myrtle Beach we stopped in Mount Airy, North Carolina to visit Mayberry. The boys have always loved watching The Andy Griffith Show, so visiting Andy's hometown was a big treat for them!

In Myrtle Beach we stayed at Sheraton Broadway Plantation in a beautiful villa. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There were many activities to enjoy at the resort.... swimming, putt-putt golf, beach volleyball, pool and shuffle board.

The beach was amazing! Beautiful weather.. hardly anyone there (since we were visiting in May).. and the ocean felt perfect. We spent two days just relaxing on the beach and visiting the Apache Pier (where we saw a man catch a baby shark.. he even took the time to show it to our boys) We could have stayed at the beach forever!

We also visited Rockin' Jump, Broadway At The Beach and Wheels Of Yesteryear.

On our last day we drove into Murrells Inlet and visited Waccatee Zoological Farm. Of course our silly Aidan decided to pick up a Blue-tailed skink, while visiting the farm, and it bit him. He wasn't hurt (neither was the skink) but it sure did shock him!

Our trip came to an end on Thursday... before heading home we drove to see The USS North Carolina Battleship (they offer homeschool discounts). It was amazing!!! If you are near Wilmington, NC this is a must see! You will love it.

I feel so blessed we were able to go on this trip with our boys! We love to travel and are counting down the days until our next adventure!
