Human Body Unit Study (6)

This week we finished our Human Body Unit Study by learning about our skin, germs, eyes, nose, ears and tongue. The boys had a great time learning all about the human body and they have learned so much! To close our Unit Study they made faces to place onto their body drawings. The print outs that we used for the drawings came from the book, My Body. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to teach their children about the human body.

Here are videos of my boys naming the body parts they learned. I am so proud of them!

And we finished the giant poster by adding all of the body part stickers.

They LOVED their special snack (apples, marshmallows and peanut butter)... smiles!!

Fingerprints!

We did two Science Experiments as well.
1. How is the ear important in keeping your balance?
By using a bottle. Adding water and glitter. Then with the bottle still on the table, we spun the bottle very fast and then suddenly stopped it (just like us spinning). By doing this the boys learned that the dizzy feeling you still feel when you stop spinning is caused by the fluid in your ear continuing to move..  even though your body has stopped moving.

2) Taste test.. To teach us how many taste buds we have. They tasted something sweet (sugar), bitter (cinnamon seasoning), salty (salt) and sour (sour candies). Learning there are four different types of taste buds and they are located in different places on the tongue.

And we will never forget the fake skin... :)

Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth
